Autocross Number Requirements
In autocross, clear and visible numbers are crucial for accurate timing, scoring, and identification. Officials need to quickly verify competitors as they approach the start line, and timers rely on legible numbers to correctly log results. If numbers are difficult to read, it can lead to scoring errors, delays, or disqualification. Additionally, clear numbers help photographers and spectators follow the action, ensuring each driver gets proper recognition. Whether for competition fairness or event efficiency, readable numbers are a fundamental part of a smooth autocross experience.
Requirements
Our requirements are as follows:
- Large, at least 8" high, legible numbers on the car with contrasting color.
- If a car has an existing number on it and that number is unavailable, it must be crossed out and replaced with a number that is consistent across all digits.
- Your class should be listed somewhere on the car, at least 2" high, front windshield is fine.
- You may check in with event organizers on the day of the event for number reassignment.
